The Emmaus House Reentry Program is for Malachi Dad participants who have completed the first 16-week Foundation Course while incarcerated. There are guidelines the participants must follow to stay in compliance within the six-week reentry plan.  This opportunity helps the participant transition into the life God has prepared for him.

HISTORY

The Emmaus House is a local piece of property that was acquired as a result of the Lord’s movement and answered prayers.  In 2008, the ministry began praying for the needs before us.  The men we were ministering and being lead to a relationship with Christ continued to have a need for short-term housing.  Also, the local community had several issues with transients and people who were in need of a hand up during difficult circumstances like divorce, fires, loss of job, after leaving rehab, etc.

One day during a prayer breakfast in early 2008, a man brought an offer to the ministry of an abandoned house in the Princeton area that could be available.  The house had a $7000 lien but the  man said he would release it for $5000. We had no money for the project but began to pray, share the vision of the building, and claim what the Lord could do. During the Christmas season, two businessmen in our area gave the ministry $5000 specifically for the building and a local lawyer did the legal work pro bono.  In January 2009, we received the clear deed for the property.

The next two years, with volunteer help from the local area churches and teams from MO, TN, AL and all over KY, the house was completely renovated with new windows, doors, plumbing, electric, drywall, and fully furnished.  Since, an account just for the Emmaus House has been created and a board of directors has been established.  We are currently praying for God to direct us to a male in-house coordinator to minister to the men while they are residing there.

The house also serves the community by housing volunteers for programming, summer interns, and meeting the needs of overnight benevolence issues.  Please join us as we continue to pray for the house and those who God leads to reside there.
